Partners Jeremy Cassell and Tom Bird are both professional and charismatic trainers and presenters with an in-depth knowledge of legal sector issues. They have delivered over 250 workshops in law firms around the world during the last 10 years – in London, Moscow, Lisbon, Madrid, Prague, Netherlands and Leipzig (Germany).

They are supported by an outstanding office team and a range of specialist trainers and coaches.


Jeremy Cassell

Jeremy Cassell
Jeremy is MD of the RTP group of companies, and specialises in influencing (specifically business development, presenting, negotiation and fee negotiation) and coaching.  He works across both professional service firms and large corporates.  He has delivered over 80 negotiation and fee negotiation skills programmes to both senior associates and partners in law firms across the UK and Europe.  In addition he has taught coaching skills and coached partners and on-track partners, focused on improving personal impact and influencing skills.  Most recently he has worked with  Linklaters, Baker & Mackenzie, Barlow, Lyde and Gilbert, Russell-Cooke, Ince & Co. and Cameron McKenna.

He has broad experience in education, sales, management, strategic account management and training with multi-national companies.  He is a qualified teacher, certified coach and NLP trainer and held senior positions as National Training Manager for L’Oreal, and National Sales Training Manager for Walker’s Snack Foods, coupled with a spell at a management consultancy.  This experience and his 10 years as a consultant have given him invaluable knowledge and competence to draw on when designing and delivering development programmes that help promote employee confidence, increase productivity and improve communication throughout a team or organisation.

Tom Bird

Tom Bird
Tom is a Director of the RTP group of companies, and works with organisations, teams and individuals to bring about sustainable and tangible improvements in performance in the areas of business development, coaching and mentoring, fee negotiation, communication and influence and leadership development.

Tom’s career includes many years in senior key account and sales leadership roles as well as general management of UK/European high-tech businesses.  This strategic and tactical business experience brings a pragmatic and empathic approach to his work with legal professionals and support staff.

Over 50% of Toms work is with professional service firms including Reynolds Porter Chamberlain, Baker & Mackenzie, Turner & Townsend and Tods Murray.  His clients in other sectors include Aviva plc, Toyota and IBM.

Examples of projects Tom has been involved with include:

  • Design, development and delivery of mentoring and coaching skills development programmes for senior managers and directors (on a European basis)
  • Creating modular leadership development programmes that combine workshops with MBTI, reflective learning and a business project to bring about both personal development and business benefit
  • Working with teams and individuals around developing client strategies to maximise business
  • Designing and delivering fee negotiation and commercial relationship management programmes to Partners and Associates within leading law firms.

Tom uses a coaching approach to develop results and performance in others and works mainly at senior management and Board level.

Tom holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Coaching and Development from the University of Portsmouth.

Victoria Young

Victoria Young
Victoria is our Insights Discovery Practitioner, using this practical and engaging personal development tool to produce Jungian based personality profiling and 360 assessment.

With her leadership coaching background, Victoria is able to help people to recognise and understand their personal style and how this impacts on others.  She can offer new perspectives, pragmatic suggestions and motivate people to create new ideas, solve problems, evolve strategy and transform their relationship and leadership styles.

Victoria has over 12 years experience of providing learning and development solutions to corporates across a range of industries, including Pearl Group, Munich Re, Allianz, Bayer and EDF.  Her approach brings together her expertise in psychotherapy, NLP coaching, Jungian and trans-cultural psychology and leadership studies.  She is currently completing a postgraduate degree in Psychological Anthropology and has written and lectured on Leadership Studies and Organisational Culture, most recently at MLife 2009 Conference in Barcelona where she presented a paper on the impact of remote working on leading teams.

Sue Fuest

Sue Fuest
Sue is the Marketing Manager and is responsible for ensuring that RTPLegal consistently deliver the service that their clients want. This involves continually gathering client feedback to ensure our high quality levels in both training delivery and customer service are maintained, developing and managing marketing campaigns, producing online and offline marketing materials and regular client bulletins, organising events and initiating public relations activities. Sue is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Prior to joining RTP Sue held several high-level Personal Assistant roles both here and abroad, including four years as PA to a Board Director of a FTSE 100 company. She also spent three years working in public relations, in the areas of staff communications, and press and government relations, and was a Director of a small service company for many years.

Sarah Boyle

Sarah Boyle
Sarah is the Client Relationship Manager and works closely with Jeremy and Tom to ensure that clients’ needs are met in every way. This includes co-ordinating administrative support, liaising with clients with regard to programme delivery arrangements and ensuring materials are produced to a high standard and on time.

Sarah joined RTP in 2008, bringing with her the experience and knowledge gained from a well known UK-based company within the travel industry. She has more than 20 years’ experience in dealing with customer services issues and looking after members of the public on a one-to-one basis.
